Artist’s comments: “Most dogs can make concrete look comfortable but my client’s deerhound lurcher Stanley took it to a whole new level! She had commissioned me to paint her horse but also asked me to reference him for this pastel painting. Stanley was a very shy dog and it took a while to gain his trust but after walking and playing ball together we quickly became friends for life. He turned out to be a great model and greeted me with enthusiasm every time he saw me after.”
